Instant confirmation or on request: what actually changes

Where the listings come from, and why they’re sometimes wrong
No restaurateur asked to be here. That’s why the catalogue is broad, and it’s also why it goes stale.

«All verified»: what it means, and what it doesn’t
Here a review is tied to a meal that took place. It is an inconvenient rule — it shuts a lot of people out — and everything that «all verified» can promise lives inside it.

Eating in Cremona
Cremona is plain and river, and has two products that reach every Italian table in December.
The dishes
- Marubini — small ravioli in a broth of three meats, the feast-day first course;
- Bollito with mostarda di Cremona: whole candied fruit in mustard syrup, and it stings. It is the city's pairing, and it is not a dessert;
- Pumpkin gnocchi and torta bertolina made with fragola grapes.
Cured meats and cheese
Salame Cremona IGP, Provolone Valpadana DOP (mild and sharp) and Grana Padano DOP: the province produces all three.
The torrone
Cremona nougat has its festival in November and its legend — the 1441 wedding of Francesco Sforza and Bianca Maria Visconti. The shops in the centre sell it all year.
Opening hours and closing days change. The ones on the listings come from public sources and may be out of date. Where a restaurant confirms tables with us, the availability you see is the real one.
