Eating in Pesaro

Pesaro has the sea in front and Urbino's hill country behind: two kitchens that share the same menu.

From the sea

The Pesaro brodetto is made without tomato paste and with vinegar, and differs from Fano's a few kilometres down the coast. Sardoncini, mantis shrimp, poveracce clams and Conero mussels complete the counter.

From inland

  • Crescia sfogliata — Urbino's piadina, made with lard and eggs, layered and thicker;
  • Casciotta d'Urbino DOP, from sheep's and cow's milk, soft and mild;
  • White truffle from Acqualagna, with its autumn fair;
  • Passatelli and tagliatelle with ragù.

The sweets

Bostrengo, the inland cake of rice and dried fruit, and the sweet Easter crescia.

In the glass

Bianchello del Metauro DOC is the province's white, and Colli Pesaresi Sangiovese its red.

Opening hours and closing days change. The ones on the listings come from public sources and may be out of date. Where a restaurant confirms tables with us, the availability you see is the real one.
