Eating in Rimini
Rimini is sea and Romagna at once: in the same evening you can eat a piadina standing up and a brodetto sitting down.
Piadina, the Rimini version
Thicker and softer than Ravenna's, up to a centimetre. Filled with squacquerone DOP, with ham, or made into cassoni — stuffed with greens and folded into a half moon.
From the sea
- Brodetto — the Adriatic fish soup, sharpened with vinegar;
- Sardoncini (the local anchovies), grilled or "scottadito";
- Mantis shrimp, poveracce clams and cuttlefish, in season.
From the land
Strozzapreti, tagliatelle and cappelletti; Sangiovese and Albana as everywhere in Romagna. The Mercato Coperto in the centre is where the city buys its fish.
