Campobasso is the part of Molise that reaches the sea, and its cooking holds together two things that are usually far apart: the old transhumance drove roads and twenty kilometres of coast.

The wine

Tintilia del Molise is a native grape that nearly disappeared and has recently been brought back: dark, spicy, grown at altitude. It is the bottle to ask for here and almost nowhere else.
